On the shores of the Baltic Sea, Olya Palushina, a medical professional and talented singer-songwriter, collaborated with her friend and choreographer Arina Bubovica to create a poignant music video during the COVID-19 pandemic. The project drew inspiration from the story of Nadia Zhukova, a Russian nurse who gained international attention after wearing only underwear beneath her transparent protective gear while treating coronavirus patients.
Palushina and Bubovica dedicated this artistic endeavor to healthcare workers battling the pandemic, highlighting their struggles and sacrifices. The music video, set to Palushina's song "НЕ «МЫ»" ("Not 'We'"), showcases the challenging conditions faced by medical professionals during this crisis.
The video's powerful message and artistic merit earned it recognition beyond Latvia's borders. It received an official selection at the Moscow Short Film Festival 2020, further amplifying its impact and reach.
This collaboration between Palushina, a dental professional who also works in emergency care, and Bubovica, a talented choreographer, demonstrates the power of art to convey important social messages and honor those on the frontlines of global crises.
